Viral shedding is a phenomena associated to space. It means that viruses have a much higher risk of being reactivated and the believed cause is stress. Furthermore, through recent studies the evidence of both alarm- and social buffering pheromones existing in humans have been brought forward. This might mean that secondary stress might have a bigger impact
on our stress levels than previously thought. Through this insight a stress management system was built, made up of three components; a pheromone detector, an acupressure shirt and a social pheromone dispenser. This system could help alleviate immediate stress symptoms, diffuse tense situations and reduce the likelihood of viral shedding.
